One person, two places
See the overlap before recording a handoff.
A grocery pickup at 5 pm and a school event at 5:15 pm can conflict even when neither person has a work shift recorded. RotaTogether’s browser notebook now compares a responsibility with the same person’s other commitments as well as their unavailable periods.
Review your household planTwo separate checks
The commitment card lists unavailable overlaps separately from overlaps with other commitments. It names the recorded items that overlap, so you can decide what needs attention. The tool does not decide whether two commitments are compatible or change either one.
Touching is not overlapping
An appointment ending at 5 pm and another starting at 5 pm do not overlap in this check. Travel time is not inferred. Record the actual preparation or travel interval when it matters to your plan. Two commitments with any shared time and the same responsible person are flagged, including when one sits entirely inside the other.
Check the proposed person before changing responsibility
Open Propose change and choose another household member. The review checks that person’s other commitments and unavailable periods. The commitment being reassigned is excluded from its own comparison. Recording a proposal leaves the original owner in place; only recording acceptance changes local responsibility.
Look at an overnight overlap on the right date
A commitment spanning midnight appears on each relevant agenda day. If its clash begins after midnight, only the second day shows that overlap. A conflict count belongs to one displayed commitment on one day. The same pair can therefore appear on both rows; do not sum those counts as unique conflicts.
What leaves the notebook?
The reviewed weekly text includes commitment titles, recorded responsible names and separate overlap counts. Private notes and proposal history stay out. Unavailable titles and times are excluded unless you explicitly include them. A selected commitment handoff remains a narrower title/time/responsibility export.
Recorded here does not mean synchronized
The check only sees this notebook. It cannot inspect a work calendar, know about an unrecorded pickup or verify that someone agreed. It sends no notifications or messages. Save explicitly to retain changes in this browser, and keep a private backup before moving between browsers.
